Non sono passate 24 ore da quando Joe ha lasciato gli Uffici per studiare la squadra, insieme a Joe Knoll e Paolo Mutti, 3 ore intense per mettere a punto una partita dove non sfigurare, ma essere proattivi per una partita importante, dove provare i due nuovi innesti, siamo ancora basiti, sulle pagine dei giornali Italiani e Americani si riporta la notizia della dipartita di Joe in termini roboanti, tali da far capire perchè una persona con così tanto carisma e con una capacità, fosse amato, apprezzato negli Stati Uniti, un Italiano d'America, una persona speciale, ma non a parole, speciale nei fatti, nei modi, nelle misure e nella grinta, i Seamen perdono un condottiero che si è messo a disposizione per la squadra, dove nessuno ha mai pensato di contraddirlo, 45 anni di football ad altissimo livello lo hanno fatto diventare come ognuno di noi vorrebbe essere, Un Uomo con principi valori e passioni senza uguali, una grinta e una determinazione che oggi ti lasciano vuoto.
Sono felice di aver dato a Joe la possibilità di insegnare a Noi anche se per così poco le basi del football, e continuerò a ricordarlo come il nostro SPECIAL ONE, e avrebbe detto "DAMN MARCO KEEP STRONG AND GO TO WIN"

You have been a comet to us.
A Shining Star, that never let us feel the weight of your fame,
Always smiling
With your humbleness, and passion without limits,
Giving advice, stories, emotions and strength
Teaching Football to your kids
Stimulating them, not only on the field but also in life
It wasn’t important if they were good or not.
It was enough that they listened to you, “but if they didn’t…...”
Curious about everything and everyone
With an infinite love for your Wife,
And for Football,
The Seamen entered immediately into your blood
The displeasure of the four losses didn’t let you sleep at night,
But it was Italy and the uniform of the Seamen was your destiny
We were supposed to tour Italy
Your last trip was to Venice was with Dianne
When you came back, there was a twinkle in your eyes, you were already programming the next trip
Curious to understand how deep Italy was ingrained in your DNA
You appreciated everyday more and more
Your started from New York,
Ended up in Oregon
World Champion 3 times in Dallas
And after 13 years, California
Finally, in Milan, where you would come to this Church to pray
And to Vigorelli to teach Football
You left a job to finish
But you left all the directives for us to carry on
Almost as if you knew you would be leaving us…..
The Star has now disappeared from the sky,
But has left it’s trail of light
And we will continue to watch that trail of light and follow it with our hearts
We will never forget this man, that for us was from another planet
He chose us
And we will remember him from the depths of our hearts
Goodbye Joe, have a good trip, you are special even among the Angels
incredibile il tam tam nel mondo del football e non solo, ringraziamo tutti dei segni di affetto a questo leggendario personaggio, carico di carisma e umiltà un Signore venuto da Dallas a insegnare il football a Milano, lascia Dianne e Tony il figlio, i Seamen si stringono in un abbraccio alla famiglia
